COURSE INFORMATION 課程資料

 

The Sports Trainer Course - Advanced Level aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of a Fundamental Level Sports Trainer and to strengthen their ability in creating a safer environment for sports events and competitions. After completion of the course, students will be awarded a 3-year certificate of:

  • Advanced Level Sports Trainer issued by The Chinese University of Hong Kong

  • With effect from 13 July 2021, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is not a Licensed Provider of the Sports Medicine Australia Level 1 & 2 Sports Trainer Courses.

Course Fee 學費

  • Regular Rate: HK$5,460

  • Early-bird Rate: HK$5,000

  • Special Rate: HK$5,000 (For MSc/PgD in Sports Medicine & Health Science Alumni and HKASMSS members)

  • Withdrawal Fee: HK$500 administration fee will be charged

English supplemented with Cantonese

Admission Requirement 入讀要求

Must have completed the Certificate in Sports Trainer - Fundamental Level (Level 1)

Graduation Requirement 畢業要求

  • Attend 80% of classes

  • Obtain a Pass in the competency check

  • Complete the required course work

  • Complete 50 hours of service in an employing club or organization within one year after the completion of the course (fill in the record sheet/ provide a letter of service; with staff's signature and company chop on it)

  • Current holder of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate; Or equivalent*

 

*BLS certification requirements:
Knowledge of BLS is essential for one to perform acute injury management. Certification will ONLY be endorsed after acquiring the Basic Life Support certificate (BLS cert) or equivalent

(i.e. AED & CPR / AED & First Aid certifications), within 6 months after completion of the course.

  • Hong Kong St. John Ambulance 香港聖約翰救護機構

  • Hong Kong Red Cross 香港紅十字會

  • The Auxiliary Medical Service 醫療輔助隊

  • Hong Kong Society of Professional Medical Care 香港專業護理學會

 

For those who are NOT current holder of BLS certification, you MUST provide the confirmation letter/ payment slip of successful registration for a BLS course together with your application.
